Unintended power-on even when shutdown manually

Hi,

I've turned off apex with shutdown (either sudo shutdown now or through gui)
But it just turns on automatically.
I'm fine with turning it on when connecting AC-DC adapter at first,
but auto turn on even when doing manual shutdown is very weird.
Is it default behavior of apex? Or is it due to faulty device?

Shutdown command will turn if off, device will not restart.

Did you flash the device? Or use the default image?

I haven't flashed anything, it's as-is from delivery.
Used AC-DC adapter as well. happens everytime.

I just reflashed the device with 4.4_v1.1 and it works fine.
Did you use different image when releasing this device from factory?
Is there a more recent version for apex?

The only possibilities I can think of is either
1) image used is different
2) Ubuntu software update makes something wrong (cannot remember whether I've done it or not)
I remember that even when trying to shutdown, at the very end of system log printed is "restarting in 5 seconds"

We are trying to reproduce the issue on our old release.
Actually, the testcase is covered in our every image release, so even the device is not use the latest image, it should not happen.
And when flash the 4.4 image, the issue disappear, it seems a software issue, not hardware.

We just scaned all the code, there is no such print in the native service.

So far it looks really strange, and we will spend some more time, and try to target the reason and root cause.
Our developer mentioned if flash the image with sdk manager, he found similar behavior. But if flash with the tool we provided, it should be OK.

Our next step is to check whether apt upgrade will cause such regression.

But even we re-flash the image back to our JP4.2.2 or JP4.4 release image, no similar behavior happens...
It's strange, bug we still can't repro it.
We have to give up investigating more, unless we know how to repro...

Yeah this is something I can't reproduce right now as well. After reflashing, I've never seen this behavior at all. Until it pops out again, you can just ignore this issue.
